How to I stand out when sending a message to a NHL player?

Recently, I found the Facebook of my favourite NHL player from my favourite team. He just started this season so he's a rookie. I want to request to be his friend and perhaps, hopefully get a personal response back. He has 1186 friends. He's not like a famous famous player (he's not Sidney Crosby XD) so I think there may be a chance of getting a reply. My question is, what should I write so that my request stands out? What should I do so that he thinks, "Hey! That's a really nice message! I'll add her to my friends, and write something back!" I don't want to be just some fangirl who adds him. I want to write something special. Any tips on how to stand out?
