Is a GSXR 750 a good beginning STREET bike?

If you can can control the throttle a bit while you learn more about the STREET, I think you should be fine with the gixxer. BUT I also think, you might want to look at a 'dual-sport' but one that is more street oriented. I've raced the 610 Husky, it's a nice machine and will give you a handful, still riding the street is a lot different with most everyone NOT going the same direction on the race track.
