Please help with this one physics problem?

I actuallly read in Fundamentals of physics that detection of muons at earth is an evidence in favour of theory of special relativity.Muons half life is so short that they should not reach the earth as calculated by clical physics. When muon travel at this speed their half life is increased due to time dilation(T=T0/sqrt1-(gamma)^2) as perceived by an observer on earth and significant number of muons is detected on earth.
